MONSOON BECOMING ACTIVE GRADUALLY Environment, News
The monsoon which entered Nepal via the eastern region a week back is gradually becoming active.
However, it would take some more days to have active monsoon across the country, said the Weather Forecasting Division.
The central region including the Kathmandu Valley, and the western region are yet to get heavy rainfall. It is only active in the eastern part now.
Meteorologist Bibhuti Pokharel said the torrential rain was not occurring in the country due to the westerly wind.
The eastern part witnessed heavy rains during the day time Monday and is to continue in the night spreading towards the central region.
The latest record at Weather Forecasting Division said Dhankuta got 47 mm rainfall while Biratnagar 43 on Monday. The rainfall was recorded 12 mm in Dhangadhi, while 34 mm in Lumle.
The temperature in Kathmandu vacillated between 19 to 29 degree centigrade on Monday. RSS
